Reiki is a holistic system of energy healing, and provides a space for the horse to “unpack or release” what is going on for them right now.
A reiki session consists of placing hands lightly on the horse to establish a connection (sometimes a “hands off” approach is required if the horse is extremely agitated and pacing). No pressure or manipulation of muscles are made, as Reiki works with the horse’s current state of energy flowing through its body.
Energy flows through the body of a horse in good health like that of an electric current. However, several internal and external influences can interfere with this continuous flow of energy going around the whole body. These may consist of but not limited to:
Some horses prefer the light touch of Reiki to warm their bodies and ease their arthritic condition. Bella here is 27 and most of the time prefers Reiki. I generally get a stretch and a yawn or two from her as her body responds and relaxes into her bodywork session.
Chance here is 21 and he likes both ETRT and Reiki as his body responds well to both modalities.
Every horse is an individual and no two bodywork sessions will be the same for any horse.
My service rate is $110 per horse - this includes travel. Each session usually lasts 45mins to 1 hour depending on your horse’s needs. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will attract a $55 fee.
I currently work with all breeds of horses that compete across a range of disciplines.
