How It All Started
I have had the pleasure of owning and riding horses for over 30 years.
In 2012 one of my own horses suffered multiple injuries in a short period of time and he was in a bit of a state. It was suggested as part of his rehab program that Reiki may help him.
I had completed training in Reiki Level I in 1999, so I thought I would apply the concept to my horse and see how he went. Long story short, I couldn’t believe the response I was getting from my horse and was completely blown away by what I was feeling and seeing. This experience ignited my passion to learn and develop my skills and knowledge in this area and in equine studies.
In 2015 I founded SJ’s Equine Reiki and started offering Reiki for horses other than my own. I continued to learn and develop in the modality of energy therapies and obtained my Reiki Masters (with horses) in 2018.
In July 2022 I rebranded my business and founded SJ’s Equine Bodyworks, as I had successfully completed my studies in Equine Tension Release Therapy (ETRT) which was founded by Alistair Brooks.
I am passionate in serving the equine community by working with horses to support and increase their range of motion, flexibility and overall level of performance.
At the end of the day, if your horse is not happy, then you probably won’t be happy either.
